Description
Aÿ is a charming little town and most famous centre of the production of Champagne. Aÿ's vineyards are located in the Vallée de la Marne in Champagne, 30 km south of Reims and 5 km northeast of Épernay. Ay is one of only 17 villages with a Grand Cru status.

They are classified in the Champagne vineyard classification 100% as Grand Cru. Many prestigious Champagne houses own vineyards here, and several producers are located in Aÿ, including Ayala and Bollinger.
Ay is also home to one of the most renowned Champagne houses – Bollinger which has got two plots for their exclusive Vieilles Vignes Françaises cuvee. One of them called Clos Saint-Jacque is just in front of the main building. This site escaped the disease of most champagne wine-growing area in the early 20th century.
