Haut-Kœnigsbourg Castle

The Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg is a medieval castle located in Alsace, France. Situated in a strategic area on a rock it was used by successive powers from the Middle Ages until the 30 years war. From 1900 to 1908 it was rebuilt at the behest of the German Kaiser Wilhelm II. It is a major tourist site nowadays, attracting more than half million visitors a year.
