Itinerary

07:30 Departure to Loire Valley

07:30 Pick-up from Your hotel. There are 180 km to drive on highway by our comfortable air conditioned Mercedes minivan. It takes about 2,5 hours. The Guide will give You general Information about the French history connected to the Castles of Loire Valley.

10:00 - 11:45 Arrival at the Loire Valley at Château de Chambord

10:00 - 11:45 Visit of Chateau de Chambord. The Guide will tell You the history of the Castle and its construction. The Château de Chambord is one of the most popular castles because of its French Renaissance architecture. The building was constructed from 1519 to 1547 by Francis I (Francois 1-er) and is nowadays the biggest castle with its 440 rooms, 282 fireplaces and 84 staircases. The castle is also known because of its open double-spiral staircase. The two spirals ascend the three floors without ever meeting. Leonardo da Vinci may have designed the staircase.

12:45 to 13:30 Wine Tasting

12:45 to 13:30 Wine Tasting of minimum 7 wines at a local family vinery existing since many centuries. You will learn how wines have been making for centuries and have afterwords the wine tasting of local wines with explanations.

13:30 Departure to Amboise city

13:45 - 16:15 Arrival in Amboise. Lunch time. Chateau d’Amboise visit.

13:45 Free time for Lunch in Amboise city where You'll find many restaurants and cafes. We can help You as well with the table reservation.

15:00 to 16:15 Skip-the-line access with Guide to Chateau d’Amboise with Histopad explaining to You the history of this Castle and of each room. Amboise is the grand 15th-century residence of King Charles VIII and an example of the transition of Gothic to Renaissance architecture. Learn the history of the castle Amboise which is known as birth place of princes, the reign of Kings, and the death of the greatest Renaissance master, Leonardo Da Vinci! You can see the chapel with his grave.

16:15 Departure to Chateau de Chenonceau. It takes about 15 minutes.

16:00 - 17:30 Visit of Château de Chenonceau and its Gardens

16:30 - 18:00 Visit of Château de Chenonceau and its Gardens. There are no more audioguides available but reading materials with explanation of every room of the Castle. The guide will explain You as well the history and the construction of Chenonceau Castle. Chenonceau nicknamed the "ladies’ castle" is remarkable for its feminine history of famous women of France such as Catherine de Medici as well as for it’s stunning architecture as well as unique aches over the River Cher. The Renaissance-style Gardens of Chenonceau with their more than 130,000 flowerings plants will impress You as well.

17:30 Departure to Paris. It takes about 3 hours (245 km)

21:00 Coming back to Paris. Drop off at Your hotel.

the full day trip and extensive history information was wonderful. Diana was a wonderful guide and we enjoyed our time with her and her driver. I highly recommend a private tour like this. Well worth the money.

What a fantastic day we had! Our driver was polite, efficient, and got us everywhere safely.

What a fantastic day we had! Our driver was polite, efficient, and got us everywhere safely. Our guide Elena was lovely. She messaged me the night before (make sure you have WhatsApp) and they arrived right on time to pick us up in the morning. Elena walked us through each castle and gave great historical context for everything. She took many great pictures of us along the way. We were able to see so much in one day! We never felt rushed but were able to keep on schedule to see everything. The order of the castles is perfect and Amboise was lovely for lunch. Elena asked us what we wanted to eat then took us straight to the restaurant and got a table for us. The winery tour was very neat as well. Overall, well worth booking! The car was very comfortable and bottled water was provided. They even had umbrellas for us to use and we had forgotten ours. Merci beaucoup!
