Private Mont Saint-Michel, Normandy D-Day Express trip from Paris

My sister's family and my family plus my brother and two grandma's went on a wonderful family vacation to France! (7 adults and 4 kids under 7) We hired David's company for three days and required two Vans.

I wanted to take time today to write a review because they were absolutely wonderful with the young and elder more wiser guests! Typically I do not do reviews because when I am not on vacation I am working non-stop!
This is what made this trip so special as a new mom and one who rarely gets a break except on my vacations, it was so great having someone do all the driving and planning for the sites we wanted to see. It was not just being driven but the genuine caring of David, Ili our driver and Vadim are other driver in the other van.
The whole time I felt safe and comfortable even having an 11 month infant. They stopped when we needed and the days were long but the Van's are very comfortable and everyone had such a great attitude. Also bonus in the summer the A/C worked amazing in both Vans so I never worried about my infant because always could come back to the van to make sure she did not overheat or eat or take a nap while the rest of the group walked around.

I wish I could go back again tomorrow!

One day was Paris to include the Louvre and the main sights. David always made sure to help us find the elevator or whatever we needed as we were slower with an infant. In St. Michael we used a baby carrier due to the cobble stones but still had an amazing experience. In Versaille we brought are very portable Yolo baby stroller, which worked well on the cobble stones and in the castle.
Normandy day was amazing as well as the day we went to Monet's house. They timed everything perfect so we never where waiting in line too long arrived before the crowds!
We had lunch were Monet went frequently with his friends.
The Eiffel tour day we did have another tour guide Olga who would be wonderful for a family with no kids she makes sure to get everything in, we however could not climb the stairs with our infant and one Grandma, so just walked around on the bottom when the rest of the family went up.
If you have younger kids that cant do the stairs maybe arrange ahead of time with the company to buy the elevator passes. This is what we would do when we go again. My husband and I know we will be back to France so we were not upset and there is a lot to see at the bottom of the tour, infact our daughter took her first steps here!
Highly recommend David, Vadim and Ili!! Great driver both Ili and Vadim very safe, skilled and know the routes and how to get you to each area close. This was great for one of our Grandma's.
Also should mention they always had nice cold water for us; this too as an American 🇺🇸 who drinks a lot of water was wonderful because we were there during a heatwave with one day being over 100.

Great trip. Vadim is an excellent driver. We were lucky enough to have him a 2nd time as he was our driver for a trip to Bruges last year. David, our guide, was also excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. We had some rain all day and they actually reversed the trip order on the fly to avoid the majority of it. Mont St Michel was stunning. The history of the Norman invasion on D-Day was powerful. Great day and Vadim and Davis were excellent.

need to stay on track with your timing especially if there it traffic. Our guide, Igor, had the
day timed to the minute and he was exceptional.

Highly recommend this excursion if you want to squeeze these two amazing sites into a single day. While it was a very long day, it was absolutely worth it, especially if you do not have the time to do each site on separate days. However, due to the compacted schedule you will not have very much time at each of the D-Day sites. If those sites are really important to you then I would recommend doing a D-Day only tour. Another thing to keep in mind is the driver is just a driver and not a tour guide. Our driver was Ivan and he was fantastic. Took great care of us, got us to and from all the sites safely and connected us with all the site tour guides effectively. It's important to understand that other tours will have a driver and a licensed guide or a driver that is also a licensed guide that spend the entire drive time talking about the surrounding areas and destination. This excursion is not that. We got a fantastic driver who connected us up with the sites and the guides there (including a private guide at Mont St Michel). Highly recommended if you understand the structure of the excursion.

We just finished an amazing day with Mikita (our guide) & Garry (our driver). These guys are absolutely fantastic, made us feel right at home & attended to every possible need & request. Exceeded all expectations. We wanted to see as much as possible in one day, so this tour was a perfect fit for us! It was a full day, but we feel that we got a full experience of both D-Day & Mont San Michel. Mikita patiently took us through all of the sights & provided lots of great commentary. Garry was a very safe & comfortable driver. Highly recommend! I would send a friend on this tour with these guys.

Ilya was an expert tour guide, specializing in castles. He was friendly, respectful and accommodating. We were picked up at our hotel, and after approximately 3.5 hours we arrived at the Overlord Museum, very informative and complete. He then guided us through our very solemn journey of the peaceful Omaha Cemetery and the beach. It was a day filled with reflection as we paid our respects to all the fallen soldiers. We had lunch, then concluded the visit of this region of France by visiting Mt Saint Michel- a true magical time travel destination. We encountered lots of steep climbing and stairs- all worth it, as we explored all of the secrets and magical views this place holds. The driver was very cautious and we felt in good hands throughout our drive from Paris to Normandy and back, with breaks along the way. Great job. One drawback is that one cannot eat/snack in the van- which was, in my opinion, not ideal because it is a long drive, but I thought, while inconvenient, there were some opportunities to get a quick, very quick, snack from a gas station.
We will visit again and look for you!

Ilya and Alex were our guide and driver,respectively. They picked us up and dropped us off on time with good communication and were professional, courteous and friendly. They made sure that we were always comfortable on what was a very long day - stopping for food and bathroom breaks along the way. Having done self guided audio tours in the past, we know how beneficial it was to have an English speaking guide to show us where to go and what to do. Ilya enhanced our experience greatly with his knowledge not only of all things France but world history as well. We know we would have missed out on many little things had we not had him to show us and answer all of our questions. The extra money we spent to have a guide was worth every penny. If ever we are in France again, we will look them up for another French tour!

My family and I (wife and 2 teenagers) really enjoyed our private tour to Omaha Beach and Mt St Michel. Our tour guide David was really knowledgeable and super nice. He explained enough to keep everyone engaged but also gave us some quiet time on the drives. Of course the tour is a bit pricey but when you break down 2 destinations, a personal guide and personal driver all day it really worked out to be an efficient way to see both stops in one day and get back to Paris. After a 3 hour drive, I felt we had enough time to appreciate the museums, cemetery and Omaha beach. Lunch was really good in Normandie. 2 hrs later We then arrived at Mt St Michel around 3pm as the crowds were starting to die down so were able to do the whole tour in an hour and a half. This place was really spectacular and we lucked out on gorgeous weather. We wrapped up by 5 and Nazar our amazing driver had us back at the hotel by 9pm. The Mercedes van was clean and comfortable. Quite a long day but I got to see Omaha beach and my family got to see Mt St Michel without taking up 2 days of our vacation. I would recommend this tour and you’d be lucky to get David and Nazar.

Long day (14+ hours) but it was so convenient to be picked up at our hotel at a reasonable departure time of 7:30AM. I read that most tours leave from a central departure point at 6:30AM. We had time for breakfast and coffee and did not feel exhausted. We also loved having a private driver and a private tour guide. The car was a luxurious Mercedes and our driver was so competent
maneuvering on both narrow, winding, Normandy country roads and powering rapidly on the highways. There is no way you could go on a tour with a big busload of 40-50 people, and visit both the D-Day sights and Mont St. Michel! It would require two days. I had always dreamed of visiting both, but only had one day free. This private car service and tour allowed us to really cover a huge distance and see everything we wanted to see. Our tour guide, Valentin, explained the different architectural periods and design phases that shaped Mont St. Michel. He is an art historian and has a deep knowledge and passion for Mont St. Michel. It is a real climb to reach the Abbey at the top. Valentin knew the route up like a sherpa, taking us via a secret stairwell. He stopped periodically, sharing his knowledge and providing excellent service all day. I highly, highly recommend this tour. Five Stars. It is a great value when you compare it to taking two separate, full-day tours. We also had a great lunch in Normandy, multiple rest stops, and never felt rushed. It was really peaceful to look out the window, watching the amazing French countryside. Go on it and say hi to Valentin, if he happens to be your guide. He is a wonderful host and tour guide. We had an amazing day in Normandy and Mont St Michel. Our driver, Alex, was timely and great. our was very comfortable and clean. Our tour guide, Ilya, was knowledgeable, fun and worked within our schedule. He had so much great historical information and made sure to cover the parts of the DDay tour that were important for us. I highly recommend Clewel and our tour team. It was an amazing experience!

Our guide Helen was extremely knowledgable of both Normandy and Saint-Michael. Clearly she has done her homework as she provided interesting tidbits into the history of both places. Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Helen. Note that if you want an in-depth tour of Normandy, this is not for you. Gor us it was a perfect balance with more tome at Saint-Michel. This trip is a must for anyone looking for an organized and efficient trip to Normandy and Mont Saint-Michel. Communication was great. The timeline was outlined and well-kept. Our driver and guide were multi-lingual and both spoke english making communication a breeze. Driver was excellent. Guide was excellent. Provided a lot of history and knew all the secrets (free bathrooms etc.), and all the best short cuts. Very flexible in allowing more time than booked and ability to adjust schedule based on what was most important to us. Car was spacious and comfortable with drinks provided. Very happy with the experience and recommend booking for 2 days if you have the time.

While visiting Paris we decide to take a day from the city and travel down to Normandy and, while there visit Mont Saint-Michel. Are we happy we did! Although a very long day our trip was one that many if us will remember forever. Our guide, David was exceptional and I would highly recommend him. Although relatively young, he is filled with the knowledge of Paris, surrounding areas, Normandy and Mont Saint-Michel and will verbalize stories and facts & figures that will astound you. The driver and Mercedes van were exceptional as well.

The American Military Cemetery Was particularly moving. There were several visitors there when we arrived and they were obviously moved. Mont Saint Michel Is spectacular and much more impressive than portrayed Very very nice In pictures. My wife and I have Ismobility issues and only visited Iower portions Mont San Michel. There were plenty of things to see and do at that level.

Our tour guide Ruzty was phenomenal. We spent The entire day from 7:30 a.m. To 10:00 p.m. with him. He clearly knew The history And understood Some of the subtleties Of the D-Day invasion. He brought The history of Mont San Michel to life.

We selected this tour because we knew there was limited time for us to visit the destination sites. The day was long but more than well worth it.

This trip was a 10/10! 5 star all around! David and Vadim were amazing. David was knowledgeable, thoughtful, friendly, kind and very funny!! He even brought us cookies.
David was our tour guide and Vadim was the driver.
David added great insight to our two tours. Vadim, our driver, made us feel very safe and the van was impeccably clean. Both are very professional!
We wish they were able to stay with us for our entire trip to Paris. I wishI had booked them for all of our tours! Will definitely use them again for next visit!

This was a great trip, even if it made for a very long day. Our guide, Helen, communicated with me the day prior to confirm the tour and to ensure I had her contact info. We got picked up promptly at the agreed upon time. Had plenty of stops for bathroom and snacks. Started at the Overlord Museum, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. Helen was happy to answer questions but mostly allowed us to take it all in - the museums have a lot of good info. Then we headed to Mont Saint-Michel, with a lunch stop on the way. Here, Helen really brought the space to life and provided tons of interesting information. We stopped again on the way back to Paris for bathroom and snacks. Great tour - would recommend.

Our driver/guide, Rusty was phenomenal. He filled the long drive with informative videos and insights to all the places we were going to visit. He gave us an amazing recommendation for lunch at a farm to table restaurant outside of Mont Sainte Michel. It was one of our best meals during our stay in France. A lot was squeezed into a single day, but I was well worth it!

Our driver Igor was a wonderful driver and very attentive to our family’s needs. There is little time on your own to meander, but that makes sense given the number of things and the miles to drive in one day. Dmitri the guide at the Abbey was also excellent and knowledgeable. It was totally worth it if you only have a day and may not be back again! We were also lucky with excellent partly sunny and crisp weather. It is a very long day but my parents were able to sleep on the way home.

What a perfect day from start to finish! Everything was communicated very clearly about the entire trip. Alexander picked us up at our hotel, and made sure my Mom and I were happy and taken care of all day. You are packing a LOT in, in one day, but you know that going in. This is the perfect trip for people on time constraints who still want to check these places off their bucket list. Such a beautiful, historic experience. This was a long but very enjoyable and fun day ! We left our hotel .. 7:30 am .. ( promptly picked up in a beautifully clean car - Mercedes - ) by Rusty .. our driver and guide .. and returned back to the hotel at 10:30 pm .. It was just my husband and I .. Rusty was very knowledgeable, efficient, professional and fun ! He was always asking if we were ok, if we needed anything Thanks so much Rusty for showing us some of Normandy - the drive was lovely.

What a beautiful trip this is! There is always more to learn about the past and our experience in WW2 is filled with touching and tragic moments I hope no one forgets, lest we end up down such a path again. Being on the beaches where our troops landed and fought, and seeing the bunkers where they kept watch and were fired upon was intense. Our guide Rusty was attentive, informative. and professional. A must do excursion for those enjoying history!

We knew that signing up for this would be a long day because there is so much to see and there is a lot driving. We are grateful they offered this tour though since we had only one full day in France and this tour allowed us to see two things we wanted to see (Normandy and Mont St. Michel. And we were able to do that. In reality you could spend a lot more time at each location, but we didn’t have the time so this tour worked great for us. The driver (Garry) was great. He was part guide as well as driver and helped us keep on pace. He would let know about how time we should take and then let us explore on our own during that time and yet lead us to the next place to go if we were not sure. We really enjoyed the tour and Garry’s efforts. He got us some nice photos also.

We really enjoyed the day seeing both places, but if I had to do it again, I think I would stick to one place at a time, so that I would have more time to explore. It gave a great taste of Normandy and Mont Saint Michel! I just wish I had more time to spend at each one, but that is not the tours fault. They did a great job of fitting the most in the schedule we had! One was so somber and one so majestic but both made you think about our how we live our lives today!

With one day in Paris, this was the best way to see both Mont Saint Michel and the
American Cemetery and Memorial at Omaha Beach. It was a long day (7:30 am - 9:30
pm); but we had an excellent driver (Alexander) and are so glad we went!

I can't recommend Clewel Travel enough.
If you are on a tight timeline they are fantastic at putting together a package for you.
We had one day to see Mont St Michel, Omaha Beach and the US Cemetery. I reached out and Cyrus put this package together for us.
There was an issue with the payment that was entirely my fault. Cyrus was very kind and told me not to worry that everything was booked and we were able to work out the payment.
Or driver Alexi was very safe and our guide Valerie was fantastic.
It is a very tight timeline if you book this particular tour but that's because we packed so much into the trip in one day. But every American should goto the Normandy cemetery if only for 1min to grasp the totality of the US sacrifice and the beauty of what the French have done to honor the US soldiers that died in Normandy.
Two tips:
-GET WHATSAPP!!! - it's how people best communicate there and easier communication to solve problems.
-Request to leave as early as possible on this trip. You can sleep in the nice van,
